The Great Himalayas of India have always been a place of mystery and beauty left to be unfolded for the humanity. In between this pristine range we have Brahmatal Trek which is known for a 360 degree of Garhwal range of mountains like Mt.Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti on one side and Mt. Chowkhamba and Kumaon Range on the other. Uttarakhand is also known as 'Dev Bhoomi', a place where Gods live. There are many stories behind every name and we would like you to hear these stories from the locals of Dev Bhoomi. Brahmatal Trek can also be considered as one of the ‘comfort level treks of Himalayas’.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

Brahmatal can be classified as an 'Alpine Trek'. Treks which have lakes or reservoirs at more than 5,000 feet above sea level are considered Alpine Treks. 'Tal' on other hand is also known as a pond or a lake in Sanskrit language. It is said that during the formation of the world Brahma, also known as the creator put one drop of water on earth. The place today is known as Brahmatal and we are glad that it is open for trekkers all over the world. In the course of the trek we will be challenging ourselves to go through two Alpine lakes and and we will camp very close to them. There can only be gratitude to ‘know no limits’ and ‘be humble’ like a mountain that we can take from Brahmatal Trek of Indian Himalayas.

Our core team is handled by people who have done multiple mountaineering courses, summited several mountains and have the experience of leading treks for several years.
We don't compromise when it comes to safety equipments like oxygen cylinder (in the Himalayan Treks), stretcher (in the Himalayan Treks), medical kits etc. Our leaders are trained to use them in any situation.
Our local support from the mountains is always supporting right from the beginning of the trek to the end. We have hand picked the right people to do the right thing.
Get Beyond Limits has done more than 530 treks and catered around 10,000 people in a span of 3.5+ years. Our experience caters safety more than anything when it comes to a trek.
Travelling alone may not be easy for some of us as we might be coming from different corners of India. To take care of this, we even connect people before a trek so that they can plan their travel together if they want to and make things much easier and convenient.
We believe that spreading awareness about safety as it is the way to prevent any mishap from happening. You can read about safety protocols by Clicking Here.
We provide separate accommodations for men and women on all our treks, be it the homestays or the tents at a campsite.
Our team promotes women being Outdoor Leaders. We have a good number of women Outdoor Leaders to lead the treks.

Brahmatal Trek is also known as one of the snow treks of Himalayas usually between early december to march at an easy altitude of 12,500 feet for the summit. The temperature during the night is sub zero during the winter months of the year. Even Lohajung, the basecamp of the trek is covered with snow during winters. At times we also get fresh snowfall during Trek itself. Trekking in snow is good when all the preparation to handle the cold is done in the right way. The campsites are just too pristine during the snow time. The lakes are frozen surrounded by pine trees covered with snow.

"You are better off than who never started"

Water Sources: The water of the mountain is waiting for you. Drink clean water throughout the journey to Lohajung to be on safer side.

We start early morning from Kathgodam Railway Station to reach Lohajung which will be the basecamp of this Trek. During the course of the journey, we will be passing from Kumaun region to Garhwal region of Uttarakhand passing the famous tourist destination Almora and Bhimtal the roads are not straight throughout the journey. We suggest to be prepared and have light meals to avoid discomfort. If we get lucky we may get a chance to witness the dawn as we reach Lohajung Basecamp of Get Beyond Limits. The total journey time is around 10 hours from Kathgodam to Lohajung Basecamp. We advise you to stay warm with warm clothings including gloves, caps and mufflers if required. We will have one briefing session and few formalities before the lights are turned off for sleep. The dream to set foot on the trails of Brahmatal is not far now.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek
"We travel initially to lose ourselves, we trek next to find ourselves."

Water Sources: There is one major water stream available on the trail.

Blessed are those who can see the first ray of sunlight hitting the earth. Our Himalayan Outdoor Leaders shall update you about the time to leave for the trek at the campsite. A basic rule of mountain is to adjust with respect to the mountain. The distance from Lohajung Basecamp to Bhekaltal is around 7kms. The initial stretch from the basecamp is a gradual slope with beautiful view of Didina Village on the right side. On a clear sky, the peak of Nanda Ghunti can also be seen from here. The accent is quite gradual with beautiful bridges and water streams. The amount of water depends a lot on the season. So it is always important to have water in your day pack. The trail is quite clear for any confusion till we reach our resting point which we call 'Rock of Peace'. This is the place where you can rest and connect with the beauty. The beautiful village that you see down is called Mandoli Village. During the course of trek you may find water pipes which become a source of water for Lohajung. There are few huts around ‘Rock of Peace’ with local settlements. This is the place where you can unleash your camera for the most picturesque captures.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

Bhekaltal is very close from here. Fear of unknown is what scares most of us. To conquer the fear of unknown, we follow the dense forest route with gradual ascent surrounded by Rhododendron which is the state flower of Uttarakhand and Oak trees. Going further in the shade of the forest we reach Bhekaltal Campsite which is very close to 'Bhekaltal lake.'

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek
"It is better to be a storyteller when you can be one."

Water Sources: Only campsite. Follow our standard recommended process of carrying at least 2 litres of water.

The shadow of the forest will keep us in the shade till we reach Telandi at 11,000 feet (approx.) which is the opening gateway of the meadows. Keep your mind and body ready for the initial steep climb. Further going towards the flag tops also known as Jhandidhar at 12,000 feet (approx.) We will be able to see the beautiful Mt.Trishul and the mighty Mt.Nanda Ghunti. At Jhandidhar top, one can even see Didina Village at the starting point of the dense forest cover below Ali Bugyal. Further to the left, one can even see Bedni Bugyal which is part of the Roopkund trail. Be careful to avoid slipping on ground during snow treks.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

We will be taking the beautiful trail which one can see on the ridge next day to reach Bhahmatal Top. Walking a few more kilometers, the hidden lake created by Brahma as per mythology at around 11,000 feet will clearly be visible. This beautiful place in Himalayas is a piece of art called Brahmatal Lake and is said to be created by God himself. Our campsite will be little further from the majestic lake.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek
"When you feel like quitting remember why you started."

Water Sources: Only campsite. Follow our standard recommended process of carrying at least 2 litres of water.

Brahmatal Trek is known for a 360 degree view from the top which is around 12,500 feet. We will start early morning to reach Brahmatal Top before the colourful sunrise. The gradient gets quite high in the end but very much manageable for a trekker. If it was easy anyone could do it and we know that beauty comes with a price. The price that you pay is from the mind to push your limits on this Himalayan Trek which makes it as a permanent memory. The majestic Himalayan view of Garhwal range of mountains spots like Mt.Trishul, Mt.Nanda Ghunti, Roopkund, Bedni Bugyal, Ali Bugyal and Didina Village are on one side and on other side we have Chaukhambha, Hathi, Ghoda, Neelkanth, Mandir, Mana, Nilgiri and also Nainital from Kumaun Range.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

After connecting and capturing the moment on the mountains in our hearts we will leave for the Brahmatal Campsite which we leave soon to reach our forest campsite of Dhayal Dum via Jhandhidhar. Jhandhidhar is the last point to see the meadows and further down it is completely down. Keep your feet calm on the ground by not going fast on the descent. A day to cherish when you do summit and 13 kms of trekking and are sleeping under the forest cover. This is your day to feel the Himalayan mountains inside your soul too. You too can be high like them and humble like them.

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek

Brahmatal Himalayan Trek
"Your body can do anything, it is your brain that you have to convince."

Water Sources: Only campsite. Follow our standard recommended process of carrying at least 2 litres of water.

Early morning we will wind up to reach back to Lohajung Basecamp of Get Beyond Limits. It will be complete decent and throughout the trail you will find Rhododendron and majestic Oak Trees. Somewhere you will connect the trail that was hiked to reach Bhekaltal. A peaceful 5 kms of trek to reach the Lohajung Basecamp. Once manage to reach Lohajung Basecamp on time and with the right energies then we have a surprise planned for everyone. Hint: It involves an amazing sunset!

"If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it is lethal."

Water Sources: Take some water from the mountain. This will keep you charged in the concrete jungle of the city.

'Don't bring the city to the mountain but take the mountain to the city'. The idea is to learn from the locals, they are calm in all situations, they are grounded, work is worship for them no matter what the situation is. Mountains are next to god and nothing is more important than a positive mind which make you trespass your limits. The people that you meet on the mountains will always be the special ones.

Brahmatal Trek ka tempo high hai and so shall be yours!
